The mission of Western Slope Hemp Growers Association is to assist western Colorado farmers who are interested in growing industrial hemp by networking with potential partners to create green jobs and green products for Coloradans.

Hemp can be used for food, fuel, building materials, paper, fiber, plastics and cosmetics. The list of eco-friendly applications for hemp are endless. Many American companies are using industrial hemp in a wide variety of products and the market is steadily growing. Currently, these companies have to purchase their processed hemp from other companies.

Transporting goods that can be grown and produced in America does nothing to help our environment or our failing economy. Colorado has the potential to create a new economy with industrial hemp. An economy that helps our environment and that has the potential to eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels. We need to take an active role and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels or we will procrastinate ourselves right into extinction.
